Doto collects the following information to provide family coordination services:

  • Account information: Name, email address, and profile details
  • Family data: Family name, member relationships, and shared content (tasks, events, shopping lists)
  • Location data (optional): Child location when location sharing is enabled by the child or parent
  • Usage data: App interactions to improve the service

How we use your data

We use your data solely to:

  • Provide the family coordination services you signed up for
  • Sync data across family members' devices
  • Send important notifications about your account
  • Improve app functionality and user experience

Who can see your data

Your family only. All data within Doto is shared only with members of your family group:

  • Parents can see all family data including child tasks, schedules, and location (if enabled)
  • Children can see family calendars, assigned tasks, and shopping lists
  • Children cannot see parent location data (location is child-to-parent only)

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share data with:

  • Service providers (e.g., cloud hosting) who help us operate the app under strict confidentiality
  • Law enforcement only when required by valid legal process

Location data

Location sharing in Doto is designed with privacy in mind:

  • Children's location is only visible to parent accounts in the same family
  • Children can disable location sharing at any time in their iPhone Settings
  • Parents cannot see each other's location
  • Location history is not stored permanently

COPPA Compliance

Doto complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

  • We require verifiable parental consent before collecting personal data from children under 13
  • Parents can review, modify, or delete their child's information at any time
  • We do not knowingly collect more data than necessary for the service

Data deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:

  • Go to Settings > Delete Account in the app
  • Or contact us at support@dotoapp.com
  • All data is permanently deleted within 30 days of request
